Udaipur , June 30, 2025 - Hindustan Zinc Limited, India's only and the world's largest integrated zinc producing company, has released its 8th annual tax transparency report. According to this report , the company has contributed Rs 18,963 crore to the government treasury in the financial year 2024-25. This contribution is 56% of the total revenue of the company. Percentage which plays an important role in the economic development of India.

This represents a growth of 44 per cent over the previous year .

Over the last five financial years, Hindustan Zinc's total contribution has been Rs 87,616 crore. Despite fluctuations in global markets and volatility in metal prices , the company has consistently focused on financial discipline, nation-building and supporting the Aatmanirbhar Bharat mission.

Hindustan Zinc is proud to voluntarily disclose its tax contributions, which are instrumental in India's strong growth and socio-economic upliftment.

Increased Contribution Owing to Record Breaking Performance

This large contribution to the exchequer has been made possible owing to Hindustan Zinc's record-breaking operational achievements, including the highest ever ore and refined metal production of 1,095 Kt and 1,052 Kt respectively . The company has also brought down the cost of zinc production to a four-year low of $1,052 per metric tonne. Hindustan Zinc has surpassed 13.1 million tonnes of metal reserves ( after deducting 1.2 million tonnes of production) for the first time, while maintaining a mine life of more than 25 years. These operational milestones further reinforce Hindustan Zinc's leadership in the global mining sector and its key role in India's industrial and infrastructure development.

Key highlights of Tax Transparency Report

The 8th report presents a detailed account of Hindustan Zinc's tax contributions over the last five financial years.

Government royalties and levies Rs 18,191 crore which includes payments made to the Government of Rajasthan, District Mineral Foundation and National Mineral Exploration Trust.  Taxes on income Rs 12,393 crore which includes corporate income tax reported in statutory returns.

Corporate dividends to Government of India Rs 21,627 crore, indirect taxes Rs 27,500 crore. This includes CGST, SGST and IGST collected from sale of goods.

Hindustan Zinc has contributed an average of Rs 3,600 crore per year to the State of Rajasthan by way of royalty, DMF contribution and other statutory levies, reaffirming its deep economic partnership with the State.

The company has obtained independent assurance from a Big 4 audit firm to confirm the accuracy of the report . The Independent Assurance Report is part of the Tax Transparency Report, which further strengthens Hindustan Zinc's governance principles.

Tax transparency is a key component of Hindustan Zinc's broader environmental, social and governance, ESG agenda. Through its voluntary and proactive disclosures, the Company aims to enhance stakeholder confidence and maintain the highest standards of corporate governance. Hindustan Zinc has been recognised as the World's Most Sustainable Metals and Mining Company by S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment for the second consecutive year.
