Hindustan Zinc was felicated for their awareness bulding initiatives towards Road Safety for the common man, by NEWS18.  The award ceremony took place at Jaipur and was hosted by News18 Rajasthan.

News18 conducted this event to create awareness on Road accidents, which over the years have resulted in death, injuries and disabilities for people across the globe. Hindustan Zinc was felicitated for their efforts towards creating awareness towards road safety in the state of Rajasthan.

Hindustan Zinc, as a part of the corporate social responsibility, has conducted programs and established road safety mechanism across 5 districts in Rajasthan over the last 8 years.  The districts include Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Ajmer, Bhilwara and Rajsamand.  The projects done by Hindustan Zinc helped in building a continuous awareness towards road safety among the residents of this region.

Global personalities who have contributed towards Road Safety attended this event, which was conducted at Hotel Grand Uniyara in Jaipur.  The workshop involving all was directed towards brainstorming on the various aspects of road safety.  18 institutions were felicitated at the event, including Hindustan Zinc.

Awareness camps and other projects directed towards road safety include awareness camps in 5 districts, 59 government schools, over 15000 helmet distribution, reflective taping of roadside cattle and animals, study of dark zones, brainstorming on road safety mechanisms and establishing district committees.

Pratap Singh Khachriyavas, Minister of State for Transport was the chief guest at the event.  The former Chairman of the State Tourism department, Rajiv Arora was the special guest.  They jointly presented the award to Hindustan Zinc, represented by Rajendra Singh Ahuja, Head of Safety and Environment, Hindustan Zinc.
