Addressing the distress caused by the COVID-19 situation in India and the challenges faced by taxpayers in meeting statutory compliances due to the COVID outbreak, the Government of India has for the third time extended the deadline for filing Income Tax Returns for the Financial Year 2019-20 to January 10, 2021. The earlier extension was till 31 December 2020. Relief has also been provided to the small and middle class tax payers.

As per the notification from the Central Board of Direct Taxes, the due dates for various groups of tax payers has been revised as follows:
