Nifty Closes Above 24,000 as Indian Markets Rally Broadly Despite High Crude Oil Prices

Udaipur, April 27, 2026: Indian stock markets had a pretty strong day on April 27. Both Sensex and Nifty closed higher, with Nifty crossing the 24,000 mark, which is a positive sign. This came despite crude oil prices staying high, which usually puts some pressure on markets.

By the end of the day, Sensex was up 639 points to close at 77,303, and Nifty gained around 195 points to settle at 24,092. Overall mood in the market stayed upbeat, and buying was seen across sectors.

Talking about sectors, almost everything was in green. Pharma, IT, realty, media, and consumer durable stocks did especially well, gaining around 2–3%. What stood out even more was the broader market—midcap and smallcap stocks performed better than the main indices, showing investors are willing to take more risks right now.

Nifty Outlook

Nifty seems to be moving in a range for now, roughly between 23,600 and 24,400. There’s some consolidation happening, but buying interest is still there, especially near key support levels.

If Nifty goes above 24,206, we could see it move towards 24,400. On the downside, if it slips below 23,813, it might fall towards 23,600. For now, the 23,600–23,500 zone looks like a strong support area.

Bank Nifty Outlook

Bank Nifty is also showing a similar pattern—basically consolidating but with signs of buying at lower levels.

The index is moving in a range of about 54,500 to 57,500. If it breaks above 56,475, it could head towards 57,000–57,500. On the flip side, if it drops below 55,750, it may test 54,500 levels.

Short-term support is seen around 54,500–54,000.

Bottom Line

Markets are looking stable and positive, but still in a consolidation phase. Movement from here will likely depend on earnings and global cues.
