The new system will do away with the difference in pricing structures in different cities.

The new model called 'retail of the future' will commence in October-December quarter of 2021.

Mercedes-Benz India will now be selling cars directly to the customers. The company has decided to bypass the dealers and offer hassle free and transparent services to its customers by way of online methods.

The biggest advantage is that the new system will do away with the difference in pricing in different cities. Martin Schwenk, MD & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, “This long-term strategic move will strengthen our customer focus by introducing a fundamental transition in the retail business in the market. It will also deliver a win-win solution for both customers and franchise partners. The advent of a new sales channel has brought sweeping changes in customers’ aspirations and requirements, and we have adapted our current business models to meet our customers’ aspirations and needs.”

As per the new model, Mercedes-Benz will own the entire stock of cars, sell them through its appointed franchise partners. The new car will be invoiced to the customers directly, the order processed and fulfilled, and this way offer one transparent price and purchasing experience for customers.

The company claims that the customers can avail the best price directly from Mercedes-Benz. The benefit is that prices will remain the same throughout the country. The company also clarified that customer service, pre-owned car accessories will continue to operate as usual. The existing showroom infrastructure will also remain the same.
