Dr. Sanjeev Reddy, National President of the Mazdoor Congress addressed a Press Conference at Circuit House on 22nd February.
In his address, he specifically mentioned that the rules related to Minimum Wages are not standard across the country. He urged the Labour Ministry at the Centre to define a Minimum Wage for across the country, and leave it to the respective State Governments to decide the Minimum Wages in their State, which should be more than that Minimum Wages defined at the Centre.
He said that in various States, the Minimum Wages do not justify inflation and rise in prices of daily use commodities, making the life of the Daily Wage earner difficult. To ensure that the future of Industrial Labour is safe and secure, the Labour Unions across the country are addressing their issues to the Government, expecting a positive hearing on their woes.
