“The Adventures of Palchingiri begins”, an hour long Sci-Fi movie, is an outcome of the effort of Pal & Chin Vardhman, who hail from Udaipur (Rajasthan).   Not excited about it?  Well, you will be – the Pal and Chin are just 14 years old!

At this age, where most children don’t have much idea about their future or what they would want to do and usually enjoy their childhood,  Pal & Chin have given a different definition to enjoyment at their age.  This mode would open many opportunities to a bright future – probably doing what they enjoy most.

Instead of following other children of their age, they chose their own way.

The Adventures of Palchingiri has won Platinum Reel Award (Student Category) at the Nevada Film Festival, USA and besides this it was screened at various International & National Film Festivals, viz. San Diego Film Festival (USA), International Kids Film Festival, Hyderabad & National Children Film Festival, Jaipur.

We got an opportunity to speak to the Young Cinematic Turks where they shared,  ‘Like other kids we too used to be immersed in the world of animation & games.  One day our Father said ‘why don’t you let the world watch your animation instead of the two of you watching animation all day’.

The boys took up this challenge, started surfing various tutorials related to animation and within a year, developed few animation games.

Pal also furthered his endeavor and pursued a short advanced course at MAAC (A Ketan Mehta promoted Animation institute), Mumbai along with a screenplay course from Mumbai Digital Academy.

In the words of Pal & Chin ‘These courses opened a new vista to our Cinematic dreams & aspirations and further it boosted our confidence to make a movie’.

For the film, the twins turned their home into a Studio.  A simple Canon camera, household lights, a baggage trolley, a piece of green cloth and their computer were the equipment used for shooting the movie.  Pal, Chin, their Mother Manju and their Pet, ‘Tiger’ were the star cast of their movie.  Besides being lead actors they also doubled up as Spot Boy, Lightman, Cameraman, VFX & Animation Designer, Costume Designer and Director.

They skipped school for Three Years to pursue their passion of Film Making and they worked non-stop for months, spent sleepless nights & their hard work has finally borne fruits.

A salute to their Milestone as they achieve more to make their parents, Udaipur and India proud of them.
