MPT-2011 which has been organised by Hindustan Zinc Limited (Vedanta Group) and Indian Institute of Minerals Engineers was inaugurated by the Cheif Guest G. Shrinivasan, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Minerals, Govt. of India. Guest of Honor was Mr. Rahul Guha, Deputy Manager, General Mines & Safety. Other special invitees include M.S. Mehta, CEO Vedanta Group, Mr. Akhilesh Joshi, COO, Hindustan Zinc Ltd., Mr. C.S. Gunjewar, Prof. R. Venugopal, Mr. Sunil Duggal and Mr. K.D. Sharma.

Above 450 delegates from different locations, nationally and internationally are marking their presence in this conference. They are displaying their newly generated technologies on Mineral Processing at their stalls with the support of their informative team at the venue.

The 3 days workshop has various sessions for discussions and paper reading on different topics related to Minerals and their processing. Key topics are ‘Talks on Non-Ferrous Core Beneficiation, Iron Ore Beneficiation, Coal preparation, Hydrometallurgy & Bio processing, Waste of Wealth & Environmental Issues’.
