Announcing a reach across 100 Million users in Asia Pacific, which is a fourth of its global users, LinkedIn today announced at an event in Bengaluru, that it will launch a much faster mobile app service for its India users.

LinkedIn Lite, a mobile tool specifically for the India market, will cater to non high end smartphone users as well as will be of aid to users in the high price internet band, so that they can access live tools like Job Placement tests and other business tools at a much faster speed than on its current mobile service.  This will be rolled out in a couple of weeks, said a company spokesperson.

LinkedIn, which is waiting to close its 26.2 Billion Dollar buyout by Microsoft, is still delivering new developments for its customers across the globe, with the India specific mobile app being an apt example.

Where LinkedIn Placements will cater to job seekers by providing them online placement tests and help place them in jobs,  on the other hand LinkedIn Starter Pack will allow businesses to roll out their profiles swiftly on social platform.

LinkedIn’s Lite service does away with heavy stuff like extra graphics, and rich media and download time will go up to 4 times faster, with the home page taking 150KB of data and other pages only 70KB, said the company CEO, Jeff Wenner at the Delhi event.
