RK Marble receives prestigious National Safety Award (Mines)
RK Marble, leader in marble sector of Indian economy was presented the most prestigious National Safety Award (Mines) from the honorable President of India Pranab Mukherjee in a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 20th March.
RK Marble, leader in marble sector of Indian economy was presented the most prestigious National Safety Award (Mines) from the honorable President of India Pranab Mukherjee in a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 20th March.
The award, given in recognition for the outstanding safety measures undertaken for the company at its mines was received by Vivek Patni and a representative of the workers.
Vivek Patni – Director, RK Marble said, “We are very pleased to be receiving this award from the Honorable President of India as this is recognition of our commitment to the safety of our employees which comes before everything else.”
“This is a great example of the management and workers working together to ensure safety of employees. Going forward we will continue to work together in this spirit of co-operation and setting new standards in safety,” said Mohammed Matlub, Workmen Inspector.
National Safety Awards (Mines) has been instituted by Ministry of Labor & Employment, Government of India in 1983 with a view to promote a competitive spirit amongst mine operators for the improvement of safety standards in mines and to give due recognition to outstanding safety performance at national level.
RK Marble received the award for the years 2011 and 2012 under the category Lowest Injury Frequency Rate (LIFR). This is the seventh time that RK Marble has won the award having won it under the categories of LIFR and Longest Accident Free Period (LAFP) for the years 2003, 2004, 2006, 2009 & 2010.
