A person holding a savings account in SBI can now change the branch without visiting the bank physically.

If you wish to tranfer your SBI account in a different branch, you can conveniently do it online.

Just follow the steps given here and avail the benefit of contactless service.

In the effort to provide contactless facilities to its customers, SBI has enabled one such online facility which will prove to be extremely beneficial for its account holders. In the wake of the rising corona cases, SBI has allowed its customers to transfer their account in their desired branches.

People having their saving accounts with SBI can transfer their account in the desired branch via online mode. Now they will not be required to go to the bank physically and can follow certain simple steps to transfer their account online.

Follow these steps for transferring account into a different branch:

-Log into SBI’s official website www.onlinesbi.com

-Select ‘personal banking’ option with your username and password.

-Click on ‘e-services’ tab on the top menu bar

-Click ‘Transfer of savings account’.

-Select the account you want to transfer if you have more than one accounts. If there is only one account, it will be automatically selected.

-Then enter the branch code where you wish to transfer your account to. Read and accept the terms and conditions and then click ‘submit’.

-Verify al account transfer details with the existing branch code and the new branch code and then click ‘confirm’.

-An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number after you confirm the details.

-Enter the OTP and click ‘confirm’.

-A message will be displayed saying that your branch transfer request has been registered.

The bank has also extended the updation of KYC details until December as per RBI directives. Customers will not be required to visit the branch for updating KYC details and they can do this online.
