German car giant BMW has launched BMW 6-Series car 650i Convertible in Udaipur. Its estimated price could be more than one crore rupees.

A white colored super deluxe 2 seater saloon car was cited on a platform constructed amid Lake Pichola.

The grand launch function was held at Hotel Leela and a big day came up for both BMW and Udaipur.

But, our authorities are unknown about the event held in middle of the lake. Mr. Ashok Babel -executive engineer Irrigation Department, Udaipur said that, “We have talked to Leela authorities; they said that there is no program in the hotel today, there is just a car in display and that also inside the hotel premises”.

When we contacted Leela authority, they replied something different. “Yes there is a function going to be held at 8pm tonight”.

So it is very clear that hotel leela had no prior permission taken from concerned authority to keep and display the car in middle of the lake because what they are saying is very different from the story that our photograph is narrating.

Now what?

Now say, wrooom!! We have done it once again! Today is the historical day for Udaipur, congratulations!

Don’t think I have gone nuts; in fact I am proud to be an Udaipurite. Our small 3 tier city has dazzling lakes to magnetize interest of global corporate giants like BMW.

But for how long we’ll be calling our lakes “OUR LAKES”? Let’s just come out from the fake proud shell and face the real truth. Our beautiful lakes are no more ours, they are all owned by big fat capitalists.

Hundreds of not-to-profit organizations are working on several ways to protect lakes; government is coughing out crores of rupees for lake conservation, but for whom? Is it for the industrialists to show off their lavish brands and products?

Our lakes are now rich men’s lifeline, maybe that’s why BMW’s India president Andreas Schaaf chose a tier III city like Udaipur to launch their exclusive car designed for potential customers of tier II cities of India.

Little about BMW 6 series 2011 sedan – It has powerful 4.8 liter V8 petrol powertrain in 650i trim. The high power mill helps the super luxurious coupe to swirl out 360 Bhp peak power at 6,300 rpm along with a culminating torque of 490 Nm at 3,400 rpm. (info by cardekho.com)
