Udai, an awakening – workshop for the safety and security of our city’s women was organized at Sheraton.

Udai is to rise and to awaken and so was this, a unique event of its own kind organized for the first time in the city of Udaipur keeping in mind the safety and security issues of the women of the city.

Sheraton Udaipur palace resort and spa and Udaipur Plus (TOI supplement) in association with Udaipur Lakecity Ladies Circle organized this event.

The event was hosted and co-ordinated by Sheraton Udaipur. General Manager Ashwani Nayar inaugurated the event with a lovely speech.

Nayar said, “the brand Sheraton believes in three core values- warm, connect and community, and through today’s workshop we want to connect with the women community of the city and talk about their safety and welfare”.

Eminent people from all walks of life were guest’s speakers of the event; like Usha Chaudhary owner of NGO Vikalp; Ritushree H.R. head, Secure Meters; Tarushree Sharma, senior journalist and Sensei Harish Kumar, Martial arts expert. It was a very enlightening and informative session which brought together ladies from all walks of life.

This noble concept was very well appreciated by the participants. A group of more than 50 ladies were participants in this event and were very enthusiastic throughout. Ritushree shared her views regarding general safety tips for working women. Forewarned is fore armed was her theme.

Usha gave a very knowledgeable insight of the true picture of the society. The gaps existing in the structure of the society and how they can be improved upon motivated the participants a lot.

Tarushree emphasized on developing the self confidence and firmly believing in one’s own strength as a woman. Sensei Harish Kumar Martial arts expert held a practical demo of all the martial arts move which can prove to be a life saver in case of emergency when held captive.

There was discussion, questions raised and answers achieved. The audience left the event with a positive mindset and a very confident attitude, in the words of Anjali, an active member of the ULLC, “It was rocking, superbly executed and I think we all went home mentally stronger and confident.”

At the end the speakers were felicitated by Sheraton Udaipur and Samprati Duggar chairperson, ULLC. The event was followed by a sumptuous treat organized by the Chefs at Sheraton Udaipur Palace Resort and Spa. Eminent women personalities of the town graced the occasion.
