Saavan Udyog and Shilp Mela began at Grameen Haat in the Sub-City Centre at Sector 9. The fair attracted a good crowd on the first day.

Fair incharge Manju Mali informed that there is a wide assortment in this year’s fair. Items on display include Barmer print bedsheets, cushion covers, Mangrole dress material, readymade suits, Kota Doriya sarees, salwar suits, bandhej saheriya, bunkaro bedsheets, sofa cover, tv cover, table cover, wooden toys, jute articles, mehendi etc. Beside the fair also has rajasthan handloom products, fancy rakhis and articles made by sculptors.

The fair will run till July 31 and will be open from 2pm till 8pm. Entry into the fair is free.

The fair is organized by District Industrial Centre (DIC), a State Government undertaking.
