Sonal Shrivastava joins as Dy CFO and Pankaj Kumar as COO (Smelters)

Senior Leadership Appointments made at Hindustan Zinc

Hindustan Zinc, India’s only and world’s leading integrated Zinc-Lead-Silver producer, has recently appointed a Deputy Chief Finance Officer and Chief Operating Officer to support the growing expansions of its operations.

Ex. CFO of Lafarge India, Sonal Shrivastava, has joined Hindustan Zinc as Dy. CFO. A Chemical Engineer from BIT Sindri and Masters in Management Studies from JBIMS Mumbai, Sonal Shrivastava brings with her rich professional experience covering Finance & Control, Compliance, Purchase, Legal, Audit, M&A, Capital Market fund raising, Strategy & Business development, Direct and Indirect tax, Shared Services and IT.

Hindustan Zinc has also appointed Pankaj Kumar as the new Chief Operating Officer (Smelters) subsequent to the movement of Vikas Sharma in an elevated role as CEO of BALCO. B.Tech. from IIT Kharagpur and PGDBM from XLRI Jamshedpur, Pankaj Kumar has his previous stint in Tata Steel, Mittal Steel, Sterlite Copper and Adani Ports.

The CEO of Hindustan Zinc, Sunil Duggal told PTI that since the Company’s mining and smelting operations are expanding, these positions will further strengthen the top-line management. The rich experience of Pankaj Kumar will bring technical experience, knowledge and perspective and will further drive continuous improvement at Smelters, and Sonal Shrivastava will further strengthen the Finance function through leveraging best practices and her global experience. Both these senior level positions will be part of the Executive Committee of the Company.

Hindustan Zinc is on expansion mode with a target to achieve 1.2 million tonne of metal production and 1000 tonnes of silver in the near future. The Company has also plans to enter into the solar project with production of 115 MW of solar power.
