Udaipur, June 19, 2025 - Dr Shabbir Husain RV, academic researcher from Udaipur and currently a faculty member of SPJIMR, Mumbai, has featured in the significant list released by Ivey Publishing - the Ivey Publishing Bestsellers 2024-2025 list. The most popular teaching cases from a library of about 29,000 cases across 15 categories are included in the Bestsellers 2024-2025 list. 

Dr Shabbir's case in category General Management has got spot #1 and in category Marketing his case was at spot #2. He has presented highly contextualised cases that elicit universal relevant insights and this accomplishment is recognised through his inclusion in the Ivey Publishing lists.

Dr Shabbir, who hails from Udaipur, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Marketing at the SP Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai. He completed the Fellowship Programme in Management (FPM) from Xavier Labour Relations Institute, Jamshedpur, and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Calcutta. He has more than 20 years of work experience including being part of Boston Consulting Group, Tata AIA Life, and TCS. His work has been published in leading journals like Journal of Consumer Behavior, Journal of Consumer Marketing, Journal of Cleaner Production, Current Issues in Tourism, Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research and International Journal of Bank Marketing, among others.

Dr Shabbir's research interests include tourism, sustainability and online consumer behaviour. 

In all 12 academic members from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) have been featured in the Ivey Publishing Lists - Publishing Bestsellers 2024-2025 and also Ivey Publishing Classics 2015-2025 list

SPJIMR-authored cases have claimed the top position in three key categories. The categories and cases are:

  1. General Management - CavinKare’s Indica Easy: Launching Shampoo Hair Colour by Prof. Renuka Kamath and Prof. Shabbir Husain RV.
  2. Marketing - GreedyGame: Leveraging Online-Gaming for Brand Storytelling, co-authored by Prof. Ashita Aggarwal, along with Suraj Commuri and Ankit Rawal.
  3. Economics and Public Policy - Sri Lanka’s Macroeconomic Crises: The Tale of Twin Deficits by Prof. Preeta George and Prof. Monika Gupta.

Additionally, SPJIMR bagged top 10 spots across five of the 15 disciplines. These are:

Three SPJIMR faculty members are included in the Ivey Publishing Classics 2015-2025 list which recognises the 25 most-used cases of the past decade. These are:

  • Building a Backdoor to the iPhone: An Ethical Dilemma, authored by Prof. Tulsi Jayakumar and Prof. Surya Tahora, at spot #7.
  • Anandam Manufacturing Company: Analysis of Financial Statements, co-authored by Prof. Vinay Goyal, along with SK Mitra, at spot #17.
