TATA Introduces Two New Buses

Tata Motors today announced the launch of their long distance Inter-City Luxury Bus, Tata Divo and the Intra –City multi utility vehicle Tata Starbus Ultra.

On the occasion of the launch, the President of the Tata Motors Commercial Vehicle business unit, Ravi Pisharodi said, “Tata Motors is committed to be at the forefront of new developments in passenger transportation under the commercial vehicle segment.  With the introduction of Tata Divo and Tata Starbus Ultra, the company is looking at comprehensively meeting the ever growing needs of public conveyance.” 

The body design of Tata Divo is the brainchild of the Spanish subsidiary of Tata Motors, Hispano Carrocera, aimed at providing a truly comfortable ride meeting global luxury standards in public commutation.

The sleek body design comes coupled with customised features such as multiple optimized semi-sleeper and seater layouts, broad seats with a 135 degree recline, ehad flaps, high ceiling, reading lights, individual control overhead racks, AC, etc. making it a highly luxurious ride.

To add to these, a 2LCD/DVD combo entertainment system, on-board refrigerator, mobile charging points, public address system make it a truly lavish travel experience.

The Tata Divo, expected to go live by January 2012 starts with an ex-showroom price tag of Rs. 66 lacs (BSIII Version).

Likewise, the Tata Starbus Ultra is a dream come true for intra city travellers that include office goers, hotel guests, tourists, school children, etc.  Primarily preordained for intra-city travel, the high end luxury variant of the Tata Starbus Ultra is also convenient for inter-city travel.

This is the first bus under its category that provides for a front door in front of the front axle, thereby providing more seating giving a better RoI to the operator.  It is designed using the reliable Tata 497 engine as a result of which, higher fuel efficiency and lower NVH provides optimal results to the operator.

Currently available in all leading Tata showrooms, the ex-showroom price for the BSIII Version starts at Rs. 15 lacs.
