TVS Apache RTR 200 4V New Top Variant Launched

UdaipurTimes, September 20, 2026 | Automobile News and Updates: The company has introduced several new variants and feature updates to the TVS Apache RTR series. Among them, the new top variant of the Apache RTR 200 4V has caught special attention. This version not only gets new features but also significant suspension upgrades.

The new top variant is priced at Rs 1,49,990, ex-showroom, Delhi. Interestingly, the previous top variant, which featured inverted forks and a TFT console, has now been updated. The new version adds more features along with the existing ones. Meanwhile, the regular telescopic fork version and the inverted fork version with an LCD console are no longer available.

No Major Changes to the Design

There are no major design changes in the new top variant. However, new colour options have been introduced. The bike is available in a total of four colours:

  • Sepang Blue with red alloy wheels
  • Armory Green
  • Racing Red
  • Matt Black

The aggressive design of the Apache RTR 200 4V remains unchanged. However, the design similarities between the RTR 200 4V and the RTR 160 4V may now appear more noticeable. A few design changes could have made the RTR 200 4V more attractive as a larger-engine model.

New Features in the TFT Console

The new top variant comes with a TFT console. This time, map mirroring has been added to the system. This feature could be more direct and user-friendly than conventional turn-by-turn navigation.

The bike also gets a panic brake alert and a USB-C charging port. Apart from these additions, it retains the features available on the previous TFT variant. These include:

  • Slip-and-assist clutch
  • Adjustable brake and clutch levers
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • All-LED lighting
  • Traction control
  • GTT or Glide Through Technology

GTT helps control the bike at low speeds. As a result, it becomes easier to move the bike forward slowly by using only the clutch.

The 197.75 cc Engine Remains Unchanged

No changes have been made to the engine. The Apache RTR 200 4V continues to use the same 197.75 cc engine as before.

In Sport mode, this engine produces 20.82 PS of power and 17.25 Nm of torque. On the other hand, in Urban and Rain modes, power drops to 17.32 PS, while torque decreases to 16.51 Nm.

The three riding modes change not only the engine output but also the level of ABS intervention. As a result, the bike's behaviour can vary depending on road conditions and the rider's requirements.

The engine delivers brisk power, and the bike is capable of cruising at speeds above 90 kmph. Its wide powerband makes the performance enjoyable for both daily commutes and weekend rides.

Inverted Forks Now Get Adjustment

One of the most significant upgrades in the new top variant is the suspension setup.

Earlier versions with telescopic forks benefited from adjustable suspension. However, the inverted fork version did not offer the same advantage. TVS has now addressed this with an update.

The new top variant features preload-adjustable inverted forks. At the rear, it continues to use the same preload-adjustable monoshock.

With adjustment available for both the front and rear suspension, handling can potentially be improved, while riders can set the suspension according to their preferences.

No Changes to Braking and Tyres

No changes have been made to the braking setup. The bike continues to feature 270 mm petal discs at the front and 240 mm petal discs at the rear.

It also gets dual-channel ABS and rear lift-off protection. This safety system helps reduce the tendency of the rear wheel to lift off the ground during hard braking.

There are no changes to the tyres either. The bike uses a 90-section front tyre and a 130-section tubeless rear tyre. The rear tyre is radial.

However, if the front tyre were also radial on the new top variant, handling and grip could potentially be improved.

Final Thoughts

The biggest attraction of the new top variant is not just the TFT console or the new colour options. With the addition of preload adjustment to the inverted forks, the bike's hardware package is now more complete than before.

The updated suspension setup could make the Apache RTR 200 4V more adaptable to different riding preferences, while the new features add further convenience for daily riders.
