After apparently “not so profitable” trial by Meru Cabs and OLA, the next big taxi app UBER is preparing to launch its services in Udaipur. Although the U.S based Uber which connects riders to the drivers through its mobile app has not yet announced its services in Udaipur but the company’s website shows the city in their list.

Uber is expected to start uberGO – low cost, chauffeur-driven hatchbacks in Udaipur similar to the other Indian cities.

According to the local market assumptions, no taxi service has been termed very successful in Udaipur yet maybe because majority of commuters prefer their own vehicles around the city or nearby places and several cheaper and approachable options available like three and twelve seater auto rickshaws which still are of service to significant number of middle class commuters.

However, Uber with its feasible rates and easy to navigate app can give a stand in the lakecity which is changing socially and economically everyday to become the next metropolitan city of state.
