Udaipur Startup 'Kingdom of Chess' Raises ₹1.65 Crore to Take India’s AI Learning Global
Founded in Udaipur, the AI-powered chess platform now serves 10,000+ students across 30+ countries, blending technology with expert coaching to redefine how children learn
Udaipur, Apr 14, 2026: Kingdom of Chess, the world’s fastest-growing live online chess education platform for children aged 4 to 15, today announced the close of a ₹1.65 Crore funding round. The round was led by BeyondSeed Fund, with participation from Arjun Vaidya, Rakesh Amerneni, Jay Ostwal, Vikrant Potnis, FBSPL, Aeroflex Enterprises and a group of strategic angel investors.
Notably, Kingdom of Chess has been profitable and bootstrapped since inception making this its first external raise, and a milestone that validates both the business model and the vision.
Founded in April 2023 in Udaipur, Rajasthan, Kingdom Of Chess has grown 5x in revenue over the last 12 months, now serving 10,000+ active students across 30+ countries, a trajectory that places it among the fastest-scaling EdTech startups in the country.
AI-powered Learning
The platform is built around a single conviction: that chess, when taught right, is the most powerful cognitive development tool available to a child. To deliver on that at scale, Kingdom Of Chess has built an AI-powered adaptive learning engine that personalises every session to each student’s cognitive profile paired with gamification layers that keep children genuinely engaged, turning learning into something they look forward to.
Every session is a human-in-the-loop experience. The platform’s AI surfaces real-time insights and adapts the learning path, while 100+ internationally rated tutors and 30+ FIDE Masters deliver the mentorship, warmth, and competitive edge that no algorithm can replace. It is not chess software. It is a cognitive development platform where chess is the vehicle, AI is the engine, and a human coach is always in the room.
The results speak for themselves:
- 100+ champions produced across national and state tournaments
- 15+ FIDE-titled Masters developed on the platform
- Students winning World Championship Bronze and Commonwealth Gold medals
- Formally recognised and awarded by the Government of India for contribution to chess education
Investor Perspective
The Man Behind the Mission
Chandrajeet Singh Rajawat fell in love with chess as a teenager. He fought with his parents, who had mapped out an IIT future for him and dropped out, and left home to pursue what most around him called a foolish dream.
He funded himself from prize money through tournaments, slept at railway stations when the money ran out, and kept going. He rose to become a FIDE Arena Grandmaster, the first from Rajasthan. He went on to teach at British Embassy schools across the world. Returning to Udaipur, he started building the curriculum, coaching model from scratch before formally founding Kingdom Of Chess in April 2023.
In His Own Words
The capital will accelerate the AI platform, expand the global coach network, and fuel Kingdom of Chess’s ambition to reach 100,000 children — ahead of its next raise to spearhead offline expansion and the full launch of its AI-powered tutoring tools.
