Udaipur Attracts World’s Largest Hotel Group IHG

The Inter Continental Hotels Group (IHG), the world’s largest hotel group by number of rooms, is all set to debut its mid-market and limited-service hotel brands ‘Holiday Inn Express’ and ‘Holiday Inn Suites’ in India.

The chain has signed a series of management contracts with the New Delhi-based developer, Amrapali Group for six hotels. With the signing up of six new properties with the Amrapali Group, IHG will add approximately 1,000 guestrooms to its Indian portfolio.

 

The Inter Continental Hotels Group (IHG), the world’s largest hotel group by number of rooms, is all set to debut its mid-market and limited-service hotel brands ‘Holiday Inn Express’ and ‘Holiday Inn Suites’ in India.

The chain has signed a series of management contracts with the New Delhi-based developer, Amrapali Group for six hotels. With the signing up of six new properties with the Amrapali Group, IHG will add approximately 1,000 guestrooms to its Indian portfolio.

This Collaboration is all set to make their presence felt in the City of Lakes as well. Of the six hotels under development that IHG has with Amrapali Group, one is in Udaipur. Named ‘Crowne Plaza Hotel’, this one is scheduled for completion by the end of 2014.

Out of the six new hotels being developed by the group, two are in the state of Rajasthan itself; one in Udaipur and the other one in Jaipur. Of the remaining four, two will be in Noida and one each in Indore and Patna. These hotels are scheduled to open in between 2013 to 2015.

Positioned in the mid-market and limited service segments rooms at Holiday Inn Express will be priced between Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,500. Featuring large size rooms with kitchenette the price range for Holiday Inn Suites haven’t been made public as yet.

IHG currently operates 12 hotels in key Indian cities and is set to triple its presence in India by 2015. Upcoming IHG Hotels will be primarily located in India’s major metros and key secondary cities, which are well positioned to drive growth and continued investment opportunities including New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Kolkata, and Pune among others.
