Godha Enterprises Ltd, Udaipur, a part of the Godha group has stepped on the gas as a catalyst for Udaipur’s green energy initiative.  It has taken the plunge to design and implement end–to–end clean energy solutions in Udaipur, poised towards making the city greener and energy-independent.

Energy transition is underway in India, but the biggest challenge still, to the widespread adoption of renewable energy solutions like solar power, is the return on investment. Godha believes that investing in renewable energy is rather a diamond opportunity to avail up to four times return than what is gained through bank fixed deposits. And that, this all is possible through lowering rates of solar power plant components combined with their increased efficiency concept of net metering,  30% subsidy provided by Central Government coupled with an additional subsidy of up to 20% provided by Udaipur’s Local Governing body, i.e. Udaipur Municipal Corporation and Udaipur Smart City Ltd. for a limited period.

GEL has till date been instrumental in installation of 1750 MW power plants, and has already installed more than 6 MW renewable power generation plant, under their banner.

“Our company is dedicated to establishing Udaipur as a Green City through the generation of 250 thousand units/day through Solar and other renewable resources by 2019”, said Vipul Godha, VP (Solar) of Godha Enterprises Ltd.

He explains further – “Given the total combined subsidy of 50%, payback period for rooftop solar energy generation sums up to 2 years and 10 months.  In other words, the rate of return on investment is as high as whooping 35% – ever dreamt of that?  This, combined with hash tag of green energy associated with solar plant makes it an ideal world we want our coming generations to see.”

With such lower-carbon energy solutions, typically, the reduction rate of CO2 emissions is 0.7 kg/kWh or 30.75 tonnes/kW, which is equivalent to planting 49 Oak trees over the lifetime.
