Memo submitted by Hotel Association of Southern Rajasthan to Nagar Nigam authorities; say previous licence renewals were simple and based on Gazette Notifications
Udaipur, December 19, 2024 - The Hotel Association of Southern Rajasthan have submitted a memorandum to the Nagar Nigam Administrator (District Collector) and Commissioner protesting against the complicated process for the renewal of hotel and restaurant licences.
Association secretary Rakesh Chaudhary said that on December 4, the Nagar Nigam Commissioner had issued a public notice, mandating several documents to be submitted along with the licence renewal form for hotels, restaurants, eateries, grocery stores, food carts, dairies, bakeries, sweet shops, pan shops, grocery and other retail outlets. These documents include registry papers, rental agreements, name transfer letters, mortgage documents, electricity bills, land use change (commercial), building and shop blueprints, environmental NOC for lakeside buildings, urban development fee receipts, two photographs of the establishment, fire NOC and photos of grease chambers, among others.
The hotel body informed hotel owners and traders about the difficulties arising in the licence renewal process. President Subhash Singh Ranawat pointed out that according to the Gazette Notifications of 1971 and 2015, there was no requirement to attach any documents for licence renewal. Previously, license renewals were carried out based on these Gazette Notifications.
Also present in the meeting were vice-president KP Agarwal, treasurer Ambalal Sahu and members Akshay Singh Rao and Deepak Mathur.
