Udaipur’s leading cooperative bank, The Udaipur Urban Cooperative Bank (UUCB) inaugurated its first ATM today in Bohrawadi, Udaipur. The inauguration was carried out by Ghulam Hussain, one of the founding members of the bank.

Ghulam Hussain expressed happiness that a bank that they had conceptualised and started in ’70s has gone on to become one of the leading cooperative banks in the State and is almost at par with scheduled banks. He recalled the times when they used to go from door-to-door seeking membership of people and setting up the bank.

Ashiq Hussain Nawaniya, Chairman, UUCB, said that post demonetisation this is probably the first ATM to be established across banks. He welcomed all the guests and said that efforts will be made by bank to ensure that the ATM has enough currency to support their needs at all times.

Ashiq Hussain informed that UUCB currently has 13 branches in Udaipur and Rajsamand districts. He further assured the members that UUCB will soon be starting off with internet banking facilities and that preparations are in final stages.

CEO, Siraj Kathawala informed that all current and past members of Board were present during the inauguration. Also gracing the occasion were Chairman,Central Board of Dawoodi Bohra Community (CBDBC) – Abid Adeeb, President, Bohra Youth Jamaat – Abbas Ali Nath, Secretary, Bohra Youth Jamaat – Hiptullah Attari, Secretary Bohra Youth – Anees Miyaji, Zonal Secretary, CBDBC amongst other dignitaries and guests.
