Wonder Cement, part of the RK Marble Group, celebrated Mines Safety Week on 23rd November in the city. The celebration was held on the grounds of College of Technology and Engineering located at University Road, Ganesh Nagar, Udaipur.

This celebration was part of company’s corporate social responsibility initiative and was organized with an objective to create appropriate awareness among workers and supervisors engaged in the mining operations in the state.

Wonder Cement’s Mines Safety Week witnessed participation from key and senior functionaries from industry and trade. SM Suthar, Director of DGMS (Directorate General of Mines Safety), Udaipur Zone was the chief guest while BP Nandwana, Dean of College of Technology and Engineering was the guest of honour. The prestigious event was presided by P Patidar, President (Public Relations) at Wonder Cement Ltd.

Vivek Patni, Director, Wonder Cement Limited said, “Wonder Cement as a company believes in the philosophy of Shuruaat Sahi Toh Har Baat Sahi. We had organized this workshop so that the workers are made aware and educated on the various safety measures that need to be taken while at work. This we hope constitutes a small but right beginning.”

All the major cement producers based in Rajasthan participated in this day long safety workshop. Wonder Cement had also organized First Aid and Trade Test Competition held among participants from mechanized and semi-mechanized mines. Trade Test competition included shovel, dumper, dozer, drill, blaster, auto electrician, welder mechanic and work supervisor. A unique competition on slogan writing and poster was a special feature of the occasion.
