Raktveer – the mega blood donation campaign initiated by several groups and communities of Udaipur begin today with huge accomplishment. More than 200 units of blood received on the first day of event which was stopped by medical attendants due to incapability of storing so much blood.

The campaign is aimed to achieve 100,000 units of Blood by 2020. A website and mobile application for the same will be live soon to connect all blood donors and those in need.

The camp was held at Lions Seva Sadan sector 4. Many top politicians including Home Minister Gulabchand Kataria, ex MLA Raghuveer Singh Meena, social worker Ravindrapal Singh Kappu etc visited the camp and encouraged donors.

Praveen Ratlia, organizer and volunteer of the event informed that many social groups, colleges, societies, communities supported their initiative and participated in the camp. Today 200 units of blood received while 230 donors could not able to donate blood due to not enough storage capacity.

The event will be continued till getting 100,000 units of blood, said Ratlia. Besides Udaipur, the campaign “RAKTVEER” is going to be starting in other places too.

A mobile app and website will maintain the database of donors and also connect donor to the person who get his/her blood, informed Praveen Ratlia.
