Aasha Dham Ashram, which has been taking care of mentally ill, destitute, underprivileged, abandoned and ill-fated people since 1997, is in desperate need of funds to develop an Old Age Home.
Today Sister Damien, along with Sister Agnes, Sister Archana and Sister Sheena of the Ashram, asked for help from city’s affluent class for this noble cause.
Currently, the ashram is taking care of 165 needy people without discriminating against caste, community or religion.
Sister Damien informed that for past 8 years they had been requesting the state government to allot a land for the development of Old Age Home. Now, the Chief Minister has agreed upon a 2 lac 69 thousand square feet of land in Hawala, Badi village but it requires Rs. 32 lac to be paid by the ashram.
“Aasha Dham Ashram currently does not have any fund to pay the government. So, we request the well heeled class of the city to come forward and graciously contribute for the development of the Old Age Home”, said Sister Damien.
They thanked the Chief Minister and SBBJ Bank for donating an Ambulance, and thanked RSMM for donating a loading tempo.
