The Students’ Union of the Meera Girls’ Government College organized a blood donation camp at the college today. A total of 250 girls registered their names, but out of those only forty could make it to donate blood.

The Students’ Union of the Meera Girls’ Government College organized a blood donation camp at the college today. A total of 250 girls registered their names, but out of those only forty could make it to donate blood.

According to Dr. Nirmala Joshi, DSW, MG College, “Only 40 unit of blood could be donated as the many of the girls were unable to pass the examining process before the blood donation”.

The girls had to undergo certain medical examination before donating blood. Only those who not under weight and have sufficient count of hemoglobin in their blood were allowed to donate blood.

Kusum Chaubisa, General Secretary, Students Union of MG College said, “We have tried our best prove our worth and extended the social message that girls are not less than boys. We also learnt that how important blood is to save anyone’s life”.

The medical team though reached two hours after the scheduled time, yet handled the situation well, while collaborating with the students and the college staff.

Chanda Suhalka-President, Kusum Chaubisa-General Secretary, Priyanka Chaudhary-Vice President, Bhagyashri Solanki-Joint secretary and all the members of the Meera Girls Student Union were present on the occasion.
