While taking her post, Tarannum said that according to the report of UNICEF, State of the World Children -2012, India stands on 46th position in Child Mortality Rate, while China is 106, Bangladesh on 61, Nepal 59, and Bhutan on 52nd position. The position of India is really worrisome.

“22 percent of babies could be saved, if they were breastfed by their mother within 1 hour of delivery”, said Tarannum.

As a CAO, the main objective of Tarannum would be creating awareness about Mother’s Milk in society and eradicating all misconception and teaching them certainty related to pregnancy, till breastfeeding of baby.

Divye Mother Milk Bank is founded by Maa Bhagwati Vikas Sansthan, a social and non-governmental body, which has installed the first Milk Bank at RNT Medical College’s Pannadhya Government Women’s Hospital.
