On the occasion of World Environment Day, an awareness rally was held at Fatehsagar followed by Lake Cleaning Activity conducted at Lake Pichola.

District Collector Rohit Gupta himself took part in the noble cause and cleaned the lake with the volunteers of Lake Conservation Committee, Jheel Mitra Sansthan, Dr Mohan Singh Mehta Memorial Trust, Jheel Hiteshi Nagrik Manch, Forest Department and Scout & Guide group.

The contributors took pledge to prevent the lakes getting polluted by first politely stopping the people from dumping garbage in lake, and then taking part in lake cleaning work.

District Collector Rohit Gupta has also begin a whatsapp Group “City of Lakes” to spread awareness, information, discussion and effective action to clean the lake. The group has top officials of Lake Conservation, Water Experts and active and aware citizen volunteers.

Bird Feeders were also distributed on the occasion.
