‘Earth Day’ programs commence today
On the eve of World Earth Day, District Environment Committee (Udaipur) and Foster Indian Environment Society, Udaipur collaborated to spread awareness under ‘Save the Earth’ campaign for which a week long program will be held in the city.

Today, on 22nd April, at 8 AM, a Rath procession was started from Mohta Park to spread awareness about ways to save Earth. The procession was flagged off by District’s Chief Forest Conservator K.K Garg and District Collector Ashutosh A.T. Pednekar.
Deputy Forest Conservator O.P Sharma informed that in the rally, school students, workers of forest department, environment lovers and general public participated. The rally traversed via Panchwati, Sukhadia Circle, Saheli Marg and UIT Circle to premises of forest dept building.
The Rath procession will travel through 17 panchayat samiti and with the help of pamphlets, slogans and songs; message of saving the Earth would be imparted to all. This year, the worldwide theme of the day is ‘Water Wonderful Day.’
The Rath procession will travel to Girva & Badgaon (22nd April), Gogunda, Saira & Kotda (23rd April), Jhadol, Falasiya & Rishbhdeo (24th April), Kherwada, Sarada & Semari (25th April), Jhallara, Salumber & Lasadiya (26th April), Bhinder & Kurabad (27th April) and Mavli (28th April).
