Following “Mission dil se” a combined effort of Transport department and Adhar Foundation, 400 children from MDS school Sector 3, Udaipur, were seen requesting parents, relatives and all to use helmet for safety by means of postcard messages.

The post card message by the little and innocent children read “You are very dear to us. Your safety is our safety. So, please wear helmets and use safety belts while driving.” Chief Guest on the occasion RTO Mannalal Ravat said that there will be an increased emotional connection between children and their parents once the message reaches home and in turn the parents will definitely follow traffic rules.

Narayan Choudhary of the Adhar Foundation said that they have a target of 51000 postcards bearing such message. Out of these, 111 best and 27 superior messages will be awarded during the Road safety week campaign.

Helmets are a must for safety, though people tend to break rules every now and then. They do not realise that wearing a helmet or a seat belt can save lives to a great extent in road accidents. We need strict rules to enforce helmet for every two-wheeler driver on road. The only question is “Why do people not worry about their own safety? Why do we need legal compulsion for any rule to be followed? Does our conscience not make us aware of dangers on road or are we actually happy taking risks? Life is the most important gift given to us by God and if we cannot take care of it, then who will.

As a responsible citizen, I urge all to use helmets and safety belts. Think of those who wait for you at home.
