Hindustan Zinc “Khushi” Creative Workshop on 23rd November in Udaipur

Hindustan Zinc project “Khushi” is all set to organize creative workshop to sensitize people of Udaipur on the issue of Child Care. The workshop is being organized on 23rd November and 10 schools are lined up to participate to highlight the thoughts on child care.  The children of schools – Delhi Public School, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Seedling School, Ryan International, The Study, Bohra Youth School, DAV, St. Mary’s, Vidya Bhawan and St. Matthews would be painting the canvas with the thoughts on child care.

Founder of “Khushi” project, Pavan Kaushik informed that “Hindustan Zinc has been working to provide nutrition, health and education to deprived children in Rajasthan through association of Anganwadi centres. As part of promoting the cause of child care Hindustan  Zinc launched project “Khushi” about 5 years back. The objective of “Khushi” is to bring in together similar minds that can then drive the cause of child care. The government, corporate and NGOs are doing their bit, but what as an individual are we doing to make the society better?  Project “Khushi” has over 200,000 followers across the world and everyone wants to help the deprived children.  There is no donation required and neither we accept. We just want people to develop a sense of responsibility towards these children.”

The creative workshop has identified 8 themes where 80 children of these 10 schools would make painting canvas. These themes are Child Marriage, Child Abuse, Child Beggary, Save the Girl Child, Child , Child Trafficking, Child Labour, Child Malnutrition and Child Education.

The schools would be placed at different locations in Udaipur city and each child would be given canvas and colours. The schools have also shown active interest and some of them would be bringing school bands and also organize street play.

Pavan Kaushik informed that the schools have shown keen interest and in a span of about 5 days he met about 3000 students in these 10 schools and these children want to make the society better.

“The country is passing through a transition period. We are growing at each front but we also have to see what India has in store in terms of future generation. About 6 crore children in India are deprived of health, education and nutrition. India contributes to largest child deaths, largest malnourished children and largest street children in the world. The future generation that is expected to take the country forward need to be addressed today” Pavan Kaushik said.

On 23rd November, with the creative workshop in association with UdaipurTimes.com, “Khushi” aims to reach out to about 75% of Udaipur population and tell them about how concerned the children of Udaipur are, towards sensitive issue like child care.

Live Painting event will take place across 10 public locations simultaneously, viz Sukhadia Circle, Saroop Sagar, Saheliyon ki Badi, Delhi Gate, Udiapol, Surajpol, Fatehsagar, Fatehpura and Chetak Circle,  beginning 9:30 AM and will conclude at 12 PM.

Udaipur is selected among the chosen smart city but whether we are smart enough in managing these child related issues is to be seen.

For all of you who would be passing through the above locations during the day, please do take out time, pause for a while to appreciate the concerted effort of the children of Udaipur for their less privileged peers.
