ICICI Bank Awarded for Self Employment Training Program

As per the mandate of the Ministry of Rural development (MoRD), every district in India has a Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) managed by the lead banks of the district.

 

ICICI Bank Awarded for Self Employment Training ProgramAs per the mandate of the Ministry of Rural development (MoRD), every district in India has a Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) managed by the lead banks of the district. Under the RSETI scheme, ICICI Bank has been assigned the districts of Udaipur and Jodhpur in Rajasthan.

ICICI RSETI in Jodhpur and Udaipur have been awarded the “Best Performing RSETIs” ranking 1st and 2nd respectively in India for the year 2012-13.

The award ceremony was held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi and the awards were received by Subrata Mukherji, President, ICICI Foundation, Chinmay Sen Gupta, COO, ICICI Foundation and Praveen Saxena, Head-Director, ICICI RSETIs Udaipur and Jodhpur.

The award ceremony was attended by Hon’ble Minister of Rural Development, Jairam Ramesh, Joint-secretary, MoRD, T. Vijay Kumar and President, National Academy of Rudseti (NAR), Dr. Veerendre Heggade along with the officials of various banks managing the RSETIs of other districts.

There are 568 RSETIs in the country and RSETIs in Udaipur and Jodhpur are run by ICICI Bank. RSETI Udaipur was set up in 2006 by Bank of Rajasthan which after the merger with ICICI Bank has been run by ICICI Foundation and ICICI Satat Aajeevika Society.

ICICI RSETIs in Udaipur and Jodhpur, since inceptions have trained in total 7000 unemployed rural youth for the purpose of self-employment.

In a press meet organised at ICICI RSETI Udaipur on Tuesday, December 03, 2013 Praveen Saxena praised the entire RSETI team for their hard work and support that contributed in the success of the RSETI.

In the press meet, Saxena informed about the various training programmes run by the RSETI. ICICI RSETIs in Udaipur and Jodhpur each have four block level Satellite centres that provide training at the village level to the rural poor. He also appealed to the people that the problem of unemployment can be tackled by the services offered by the RSETI. The press meet was also attended by R.K Bolia, Advisor ICICI RSETI and Dr. Arvind Prakash, Senior Programme Manager, ICICI RSETI Udaipur.
