Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.

– Helen Keller

Like previous years, this year as well the event was conducted to support the visually impaired students to overcome the challenges faced in preparing for their exams.

Team Prayatna along with many volunteers from IIM Udaipur took the initiative to record audio books that would help students to prepare for exams anytime.

Since, the students are in the final stage of preparation for their year-end examinations, the enormous task of recording and delivering the audio books had to be completed in the shortest time possible.

As many as 47 students from PGP1, PGP2 and PGPX contributed wholeheartedly in the initiative. The recorded audio books included subjects ranging from English Literature I (Drama & poetry), English Literature II (Fiction), Sociology part I and II for both B.A. first and third year. Many of the students enjoyed the experience of recording their voice for the first time.

A total of 6 books containing total of ~1500 pages were recorded in DVDs (6 in total) and were donated to the principal of the school on 4th March 2018. “Through SWAR, we wish to achieve the objective of making education easily available to all visually impaired students,” said members of Team Prayatna.

Team Prayatna said that, “As an academic institute, we plan to be their vision and shape the future of these young, capable minds.”

Prayatna plans to bring worthwhile impact on the lives of such students by expanding SWAR to other Blind Schools in Rajasthan.
