Various women and girl-child oriented social organizations has observed the International Day of the Girl Child by meeting top administrative dignitaries and spreading awareness concerning the setbacks related to the women and girls, specially child marriage and domestic violence.
Marking the first year of International Day of the Girl Child, the theme is decided as “Abolishing Child Marriage”.

Volunteers of NGOs led by Vikalp in association with Mumkin Hai, The Garden of Hope Foundation, Girls not Brides and Aapni Dikri ro Haq, met Udaipur’s District Collector, Superintendent of Police and Inspector General of Police today at their office and presented a poster and a letter to the Chief Minister of the State.
Girl’s group from St. Mathew’s School met Vikas Bhale, District Collector and presented the letter describing their concern and suggestions to introduce stringent laws against social evils like, child marriage, female feticide and other violence against women and girls.

Dressed alike, all the girls met I. G., T. C. Damor and S. P, Hariprasad Sharma in their offices and talked the issue.
T. C. Damor also explained the system of how police works, according to their position and departments. Damor also told girls about his family and said that he has three daughters and all of them are in teaching profession.
