Udaipur is considered “Venice of the east” and lake city is the best tourist city in the world and its beauty attracted a throng of tourists in recent years.
Here lakes are its lifeline but it is also true that these are getting polluted everyday by hotel industry on its bank and people living nearby as they throw plastics, dust and other consumables. Other problems are like water Hyacinth. Also sewerage line which passes through lakes, sometimes gets punctured which makes water highly polluted with filthy materials.
Bharat Vikas Parishad (Udai) along with Jheel Hiteshi Nagrik Manch organized lake cleanliness program at Lake Pichola near Gangour Ghat. Team included Secretary of Bharat Vikas parishad Dr. Subhas Bhargava, Treasurer Bhupendra Vyas and members BL Godha, Dr. Kamal Singh Rathore, Dr. Pradeep Goyal and Swami Sagaranand.
The team cleaned the lakes for two hours and gave the message to keep lakes crystal clear. “If we keep the lakes clean then only we will be able to save fauna and flora of Udaipur and also can consume its fresh water for drinking. To keep lakes and city clean, is responsibility of all of us, so we should follow rules of cleanliness and make our city beautiful,” said Subas Bhargava.
