8 Units of National Service Scheme (NSS), of 4 four colleges of Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, organized a ‘Shramdaan’ event and planted 2000 saplings on the barren land between Arts college and Law college.

 

NSS plants 2000 saplings at MLSU 8 Units of National Service Scheme (NSS), of 4 four colleges of Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, organized a ‘Shramdaan’ event and planted 2000 saplings on the barren land between Arts college and Law college.

With the target of 5000 plantations till November, aim of the event is to make this area the most densely planted one in Udaipur. The program extends not only to planting but also to ensure plant survival.

Chief guests of the event were Akhilesh Joshi, CEO, Hindustan Zinc, T. C. Damor, I. G. Udaipur Range and Professor I. V. Trivedi, Vice- Chancellor MLSU. The event was organized by Professor I. M. Kayamkhani, NSS coordinator MLSU and Professor Vijay Shrimali, Chief Proctor MLSU.

During the plantation drive, both IG and Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts undertaken by Hindustan Zinc towards environment. Mr. Joshi also informed that this year HZL is planting 100,000 saplings and the company is committed to enhance green belt in and around our business locations.

NSS plants 2000 saplings at MLSU The saplings planted on the occasion were neem, amaltash, banyan, bad, jamun etc. These plants were selected according to the climate of Udaipur and major focus was on the plantation of neem plants.

Professor Vijay Shrimali said, “This initiative is to keep the environment of the University clean and green. We also plan to lay a ‘Neem Road’ from University’s Golden Jublee gate to this site by planting neem trees on both sides of the road”

Professor I. M. Kayamkhani said, “We will prepare a nursery of 10000 plants”.
