Around 100 peoples of Bohra community including ladies, gents and children planted a total of 211 trees today in a plantation drive organised by the community members. The tree plantation was carried out at A.T.Farms, Udaipur.

As per the community spokesperson, the drive is the brainchild of their spiritual leader His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin Saheb(TUS), who wishes to plant 2 lakh trees across the globe. Every tree will be tagged with a number and a barcode to identify its location.

“Information such as date of plantation, species and location, will be documented on a web portal so that we can track the entire plantation drive,” said the spokesperson. He further added that, “health of trees will be tracked in the future and actions will be taken to take care of those which need attention.”

The initiative goes hand-in-hand with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a clean and green India.

The community is encouraging its members to participate by planting trees (one to two years old). Bohra community has decided to plant 5000 trees in the udaipur city.

Till date the community has planted 47192 all over globe according to data uploaded on the official website.
