Policies for Safety of Women should be Implemented Strictly: Prof. Chouhan

A brainstorming session concerning Women’s security in Education Field took place today, at Janpad Media Centre, Rajasthan Vidyapeeth. Well-known personalities including educationists, NGOs and social figures presented their views and opinion on security and safety of women and discussed on policies, social bigotry, like gender discrimination etc.

The program was coordinated by Dr. Laxminarayan Nandwana, Secretary, Chancellor Secretarial.

Professor Vijaylaxmi Chouhan in her address said, “Women were living in threat; they are still and will remain in threat. The nature of crime and committing it is also changed. There were notable reforms also applied, but the effects of changes are still at vague.”

Chouhan said, “We have to either apply security policies with strictness or let women safeguard women.”

Further, continuing her opinion on gender discrimination, Prof. Chouhan said, “there is a need of transformation in education to make women self sufficient and also increase self-importance. Special law should be introduced to stop crime against women and it should be apparent and quickly effected.”

Dr. Laxminarayan Nandwana stated that gender discrimination is a reason behind women’s insecurity; he said that an Indian joint family system plays a vital role in securing women, whereas living in a single family diminished security of women.

While, composing the program, Dr. lalit Pandey, Director of Public Literacy and Expansion Program Directorate said that, higher education should be given consisting of moral teachings.
