Larsen & Toubro, as India’s leading builder of major infrastructure projects , has through its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives constantly reinforced its vision of Building India’s Social Infrastructure.With the launch of the community based integrated project in Hamer Pal village of  Rajasamand district  in Rajasthan L&T is seeking to work in partnership with Seva Mandir, a local NGO and the  community to address key themes of water and sanitation, education, health and skill building. These are critical for the overall development of the community.

L&T has partnered with the NGO – Seva Mandir  in Rajasthan for execution of the project. The project is targeted at 10 villages impacting over 11,000 people. Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Gautam Kar , Head, Corporate Infrastructure & Administrative services, L&T, said, “Through the project we are working towards poverty alleviation, community awareness on civic issues, improving skills of the local community through capacity building activities with special emphasis on women participation in decision-making process. This would lead to  overall empowerment of  the community.”

The integrated program in  the district will  be laid out for a period of 4  years  and include community awareness sessions on water, building of sanitation facilities and, replicable & indigenous technologies for harnessing water like building of  bunds , soil & water conservation measures, education support to schools, health development support to community.
