The volunteers and members of Lake Conservation Committee, Jheel Mitra Sansthan and Dr Mohan Singh Mehta Memorial Trust inspected the sewerage system of residential areas near lakes side and found many technical irregularities.
As per the members of lake conservation committee, at many places the sewerage lines connected the waste water but ignored exclusion of human waste. While at other areas where new sewerage lines are constructed it was being done without any technical scrutiny.
Dr Anil Mehta, Tejshankar Paliwal, Nand Kishore Sharma and other volunteers inspected the areas of Gogawat Badi, Gadiya Dewra, Bhatt Wadi, Alka Puri etc and checked the sewerage work.
In Gogawat Wadi there is a sewerage line constructed in 1980 and the main-hole lid are still in well condition whereas civic administration is preparing to remove it which will be needless investment. There is a requirement to change the sewer line.
The group of volunteers Conduct Lake cleaning tasks every week end and raise awareness among locals to keep the lakes pollution free.
