Over 200 people are expected to walk from Aravali Vatika till the Fatehsagar Paal area to spread awareness about organ donation. The walk is open for all and will start at 7:00am from Aravali Vatika. The participants will be walking till Fatehsagar Paal and along the way will distribute pamphlets and spread awareness about the benefits of Organ donation and also remove the myths associated with donation.

Organ donors have huge impact even after their death. One of our reader contributions on how her son got a new life due to an organ donor is a testimony to the argument.

What is Organ Donation

Organ donation is where a person donates their organ(s) for transplant. There are two types of organ donation – living and deceased. Living donation is when alive and medically compatible donors decide to donate their organs to a recipient in dire need of a transplant. Deceased donation is when organs from a person who has died because of brain death are transplanted to living recipients in need of a transplant. Donate organs are given to someone who has damaged organs that need to be replaced. An organ transplant may save a person’s life or significantly improve their health.

We invite all our readers to participate in this walk and spread the word.
