A unique initiative commenced in the lakecity yesterday where vendors refused to sell tobacco and related products on 31^st May. Tobacco products were not even displayed on their shops.

Vendors and owners with shops in areas including pahadi bus stand, Shastri circle, roadways bus stand, opposite old Congress office and Udiapol promoted no tobacco day. Paan shops were closed on this day.

The vendors informed the general public about the harmful effects of consuming tobacco, cigarette and other products. They also took a vow to not to sell tobacco products on the last day of each month.
