Women serving in the various offices of Department of Mines and Geology across Rajasthan now have a person to look up to in times of distress. Sakina (Paliwala) Dawood, a long serving personnel of the DMG in Udaipur has been appointed the President of the Women Security Cell in the department.
The cell has been established to secure women safety at times of abuse of lady personnel in the department, either sexually or otherwise.
Sakina is serving in the position of Chemist at the department’s Udaipur office for quite a few decades now and is one of the most senior personnel in terms of length of service in the department.

The cell will function under the supervision of Director Mines and Geology, Jitendra Kumar Upadhyay, where Jairaj Acharya has been appointed the Secretary.
Sanjeev Rathore, Mamta Khamesra, Yashodhra Sharma and Shilpa Rathore are the other members of the Cell.
All women personnel of the department in all offices across the state of Rajasthan, irrespective of their designation or division within the department, will inform Sakina of their grievances – both in terms of sexual misconduct or in case any other objectionable behavior. This is a positive step driven by the recent #MeToo episodes that have come up across the country in recent weeks.
