On the auspicious occasion of Devuthni Ekadashi, 5 couples of Meghwal Community of Udaipur got married in a mass wedding, organized by Meghwal Samaj Seva Samiti at Town Hall Compound. Marriage was carried out under Hindu customs; thereafter married couple took oath to stop Female Feticide.

Today in a mass wedding of Meghwal Community held at Town Hall, a procession was carried out at 8.30 am. Starting from Fateh Memmorial School passing through Surajpol and Bapu Bazar the procession reached Town Hall, where ritual of Toran was performed by Grooms.

According to Dinesh Lal Meghwal, President of organizing committee, all participating couples belong to Udaipur. The Committee gifted a 150 gms of silver anklet (Jhanjar) to bride and a wrist watch to each groom.

Before the end of ceremony, married couples took an oath for putting check on female feticides. More than three thousand individuals of community participated in the event.
