The 31st Annual Pratishta day Mahotsav of Sree Ayyappa Temple, Udaipur began on April 21, 2013 with the hoisting of the holy ceremonial flag of the Lord at 7.00 p.m. by Temple Priest Narayanan Namboodiri amidst the gathering of enthusiastic devotees. Ganapati Homam, Usha Pooja, Srimat Bhagwat Parayan were other rituals of the day. The entire temple was decorated with flowers and lights.

On 22nd after day-long rituals like Navagam, Bhagwat Parayan & Bhagwati Seva cultural program of devotional dance & songs by children and youngsters were staged wherein about 10 children participated. Notable presentations included the Bharatnatyam by Usha Mohan and a solo dance by Kumari Babu.

On the concluding day’s special rituals that will be performed will include Neyyabhishekam (ghee-abhishek), Dhara, Navagam, etc. In the evening between 6 and 7 the ceremonial flag would be descended which would mark the conclusion of the 3-day Utsav. This will be followed by Bhajan, Deeparadhana and fireworks.

On April 21 and 22 there were annaprasad in the evening after shayan pooja, however on April 23, a Mahaprasadam will be served during day time immediately after noon pooja.

A 5-member artiste group led by Mr. Kalamandalam Sree Kumar from Delhi gave their performance of Chenda, Edacka and other instruments.
