4 Day Cultural Events to Mark Vikram Samvat 2068

To observe the Hindu New Year – Vikram Samvat 2068, starting in the month of April 2011, the city of lake will observe the 4 day long celebrations which include various cultural, traditional and religious programs starting from April 1 to April 4.

 

To observe the Hindu New Year – Vikram Samvat 2068, starting in the month of April 2011, the City of Lake will observe 4 day long celebrations which include various cultural, traditional and religious programs starting from April 1 to April 4.

The program will be co-organized by Akhil Bhartiya Nav Varsh Samaroh Samiti, Udaipur Municipal Council, Alok Institute, Rotary Club of Udaipur and Bharat Vikas Parishad (Mewar)

Following are the details of functions going to be held from 1-4 April 2011

1st April 2011 4 Day Cultural Events to Mark Vikram Samvat 2068

Turbans have an essential position in Rajasthani way of life; this is one of the cultural heritages this state is protecting since long. To encourage the tradition of turban, there will be a competition between best tied turban and best decorated turban on 1st April.

Venue: Lake Fateh Sagar’s Paal towards Dewali.

Timings: 5pm

The competition will be followed by Vandemataram group song and a film exhibition “Aao fir se diya jalayen”

2nd April 2011 4 Day Cultural Events to Mark Vikram Samvat 2068

Roadside LIVE plays in India are also commonly known as “nukkad natak”. It proved to be one of the most affective sources of media, it is best way to inform and aware every category of people however it also work best to reach the backward, poor and illiterate mass.

Series of Nukkad Natak by various artists are going to be performed on city’s all main circles.

Venue: All main circles of Udaipur

Timing: 9 AM onwards

3rd April 2011 4 Day Cultural Events to Mark Vikram Samvat 2068

A traditional procession will be carried out from one of the most significant temple of Sri Nath Dwara to Ghangaur Ghat located at Lake Pichola.

It will be followed by cultural programs to be held on Ghangaur Ghat.

Procession timings: 2:30pm to 7:30pm

Passing greetings and best wishes of new year to everyone at all major city circles from morning 8am to 11am

A small procession will be taken from apala ganesh ji to dudhtalai

Fireworks will start at 7:30pm from Dudhtalai
