Akha Teej better known as Akshaya Tritiya is one of the most important dates of Hindu calendar, as it is believed that on this day Lord Ganesha began writing Mahabarata. It also celebrated as the birthday of Lord Parshurama. The day is believed to be good for starting new ventures and business; some even find it auspicious for getting married.

The raising temperature across city though affected buying capacity of locals, but a good rush was noticed in all major markets of town as evening approached.

In tribal areas around Udaipur, illegal act of child marriage is found performing typically. Since administration was conscious over the matter, therefore no such act came to light till evening.
