All-Women Crew Operates Jodhpur–Bhopal Exp on Women’s Day
On International Women’s Day, North Western Railway’s Jodhpur Division assigned an all-women crew to operate the Jodhpur-Bhopal Express from Jodhpur to Jaipur
March 9, 2026 - On the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8, the North Western Railway, Jodhpur Railway Division, took a unique initiative to promote women’s empowerment by assigning the complete operation of the Jodhpur–Bhopal Express to women employees on Sunday (March 8).
Train number 14813 Jodhpur–Bhopal Express was operated by an all-women team from Jodhpur to Jaipur, with women railway staff deployed in all major roles. The initiative aimed to highlight the efficiency, capability and leadership of women in railway operations.
Before the departure, women passengers and female railway staff were felicitated at Jodhpur Railway Station, after which the train departed on schedule.
Assistant Loco Pilot Rekha Kumari handled the engine operations, while Ramila Kumari Meena served as the Train Manager overseeing the journey. For security arrangements, RPF constables Sunita and Ganga Kumari remained on escort duty throughout the trip. Ticket checking responsibilities were managed by women TTEs Rachna, Priya Chauhan, Basanti Tak and Dipali.
Station operations were coordinated by Station Master Neha Parik.
Divisional Railway Manager Anurag Tripathi said that currently around 350 women employees are working in the Jodhpur division.
